June 2002:
Birthday pillow for cousin Rachel

June 2002: pink and white rectangular pillow for my cousin Rachel in Arizona. She's just a little older than Miranda, but because of finances and timing, the girls haven't yet met. I sewed it together the afternoon I realized I hadn't gotten her more than a few trinkets for her birthday. I used most of the little I had of a very girly white-on-medium pink fabric, plus another bit of white-on-white floral for the other squares and the backing. The border is strips of the pink fabric with white at the corners. It looked better up close than from a distance. I didn't realize this until after I'd made and photographed the whole thing.

Rachel's mom (my cousin's wife) reported back to me that Rachel loved to bring it on car trips, as it was just the right size for napping.

July 2003:
Another birthday pillow for cousin Rachel

July 2003: pink and white rectangular "R" pillow with white heart lace for my cousin Rachel in Arizona. Made to match last year's birthday pillow. This one is a good size for a large doll.
